The news of mama’s departure came as a shock to us. When God decided that it was time for her to go, that cannot be reversed by anyone but Him only.
The pain of her departure would have been more if we had not seen her in April this year, after a long time away from Akure.
During every visit mama will attempt to report past events and bring you up to date on some issues around her. She was politically informed and followed trends in the country. She was an ardent listener to the radio.
Marrying my wife made me an addition to the family by the grace of God. I enjoyed every moment with her. Mama would ask after every of my brothers and their spouses each time we had telephone calls. She developed an interest in their wellbeing grand and great grandchildren and followed their developments even though she had not seen some of them.
Many of our visits were without notice but you can be sure that she was not found wanting in what to entertain with and one begin to wonder if she ever knew that we were coming. Every visit was with good memories. We thank God.
Mama was so loving and caring. I am happy that she was cared for as well.
She calls me “Pastor mi”. That I cherished so much and will miss that call from her.
I can only wish you adieu Mama.
